Broke & Banned songs of Sime Nugent is Sime's tenth album and debut solo outing.

Recorded in five studios with three collections of some of Sime's favorite musicians, Broke and Banned songs of Sime Nugent is out through Sime's own label D.D. Records and is distributed by M.G.M. "I tried to leave the songs up on stilts or gut the middle of them. I wanted to leave the point and quit the pageant. I guess it's a lot more raw than the last couple of albums with the Forefathers. It didn't seem like the right time for bells and whistles."

Broke & Banned songs of Sime Nugent features guest performances by Angie Hart (Frente), J Walker (Machine Translations), Steve Hesketh (Forefathers, Jet), Pat Bourke (Dallas Crane), Mike Noga (Drones, Mick Turner), Peter Luscombe (Paul Kelly) and many more.
